Geoscience Diploma - Eligible Courses

The Universities of both Birmingham and Portsmouth have been awarded a prestigious ‘Gold’ rating in the 2017-18 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) – the U.K. Government’s official assessment of teaching excellence in higher education. The Gold-rating sees both the Universities of Birmingham and Portsmouth ranked among the top 20% of the 299 universities, colleges that are part of the Teaching Excellence Framework.


University of Birmingham

The University of Birmingham is one of the U.K.’s prestigious Russell Group universities. Birmingham ranks in the top global 100 universities (in the 2018-2019 QS World University Rankings), and with the Greene’s Geoscience Diploma you have the opportunity to study on a number of their undergraduate degree programmes which include:

To progress from the Geoscience Diploma onto one of the undergraduate courses listed above, you need a minimum score of 65% attained at the end of the Diploma.

If you obtain a Merit (70-79%) you can be considered for entry to the MSci in Palaeobiology and Palaeoenvironments and those who obtain a Distinction (+80%) can be considered for entry onto the international MSci version of this course.
